Project Description
Mitchell Associates has teamed with WBRC Architects-Engineers of Bangor and Portland to design a new fire headquarters for Brunswick, Maine.
The new 28,000 sq ft station replaces their 102-year-old current facility with its many operational, health and safety issues. The new station will have 7 drive through bays, hot and cold zone separation with a comprehensive decon/laundry facility, integrated training components including a tower, gender neutral accommodations, administrative and classroom space, and a museum to house their three 19th century hand pumpers.
The $9.1 million project successfully bid under budget in January 2021, allowing all alternates to be accepted. Construction is expected to take 15 months.
